Community placement.
The Mordialloc Experience group have already taken the plunge and are out and about working amongst the community for the week. All students applied for the positions they are in, some are outdoors working with the council, others with children at primary schools. A number of students are building upon their retail experience at the local opportunity shops.
The teachers have visited these students and heard all the exciting stories. Stay tuned, to hear more!

Swimming sports!
What a day! The sun was shining, most of the time, the outfits were outrageous and the competition was fierce! As soon as the first gun shot was fired, students and staff were soaring through the water at a fast pace.
Everyone new when the sausage sizzle had started because you could smell the aroma of sausages, burgers and onions. They tasted just as wonderful as they smelt!
All students made a fantastic contribution to the 'bring a tin when you swim' program.
An unforgettable day was had by all!

So far in mordialloc experience i have had fun, i have enjoyed the fun activities and the things the teachers planned for us.What i thought was the most fun so far is the bowls games on the carpet. Our group went pretty good, but then Harmony got us the win for the team, we then won the tournement thanks to Harmony. Our bridge making didn't go to plan and we failed The speakers from "task force" were great and we all learnt alot with the infomation they provided us today. It will be good when they come in each week. Im pretty excited about the rest of the term. The bowlin this friday should be fun.

In my first few days of mordialloc experience we built a bridge made out of straws with the help of Shannon H Harmony E Jarryd C Sean F Ryan W and we had a good run but our bridge broke.
Then the next few days we played carpet bowls and our team was Jarryd C Shannon H Harmony E. Me and Shannon had a good run but Harmony lead the way for our team earning 10 points.

On the 4/2/09 we played carpet bowls. Carpet bowls is exactly like lawn bowls but on carpet.
We got broken up in to our tagteam groups. We played each other first and then the winner oup of the groups play. Then who ever won that went to the semi finals and then the prelimenary final then the grand finals. Harmony won the Carpet bowls.
The stratiges we used were knocking each others bowls out and using the heavy said to swing the bowls left to right. We worked in teams so we could get points, and communicate with each other.

So far in mordialloc experience I have enjoyed it and had a lot and had of fun.
So far my favourite thing would be the carpet bowls. I haven't ever done it before but still i found a way to dominate the game.
My Team was up first. There was a clear stand out of the group (Adam Hume) but we won't mention names.
Winning the game i was placed into the final but conceded a injury on my worst few bowls I couldnt go on.
I was crushed.
To take my place was Ben and everyone agreed it wasnt a fair trade but the game had to go on.
With Ben moving into the final no one expected he would even grab a point but he must or used some sort of spell cause he won the first won.
To everyones surprise he moved on to the semi final agaisnt harmony and it looked like ben was in the final but ......... we were wrong.
In the end Harmony won a thrilling final.
At the end of the day Ben lost to a girl.
Cheers A.hume

This is our first week of mordialloc experience and its been fun so far, we have had lots of fun activites but my favourite was the bridge building task.
What we had to do was to make a bridge to hold a bucket of golf balls out of straws, newspapper and tape so I got my group together witch had me humey(Adam Hume) and Matt c first we put 4 colums of 12 straws together and taped them up and hoped it would hold....................we were wrong it couldn't even stand up byitself we had only had 10 mins left so we stuffed as much newspapper together and hoped for the best.
Mr Ellul came around with the bucket he put the bucket on SUCCESS it diddnt fall over he put 1 golf ball in it still diddnt fall over we thought we were gonna win this...............we were wrong he put 1 more golf ball in and it fell apart we were devistated we went on to come second last and got no points.

Mordialloc Experience: - Our first few days.
On Monday 2nd the first group of year 9’s for 09 set foot in the Mordi experience room. We were all excited about what we were going to do the first thing we go to know each other and learnt what to expect from the Mordialloc experience.
Then in groups we had to build bridges out of newspaper, straws and masking tape. The groups then competed to see whose could hold the most golf balls my group (Red tag team) won after holding 140 golf balls.
On Tuesday we had a quiz on how well we knew the Mordialloc experience teachers, there were 50 images with 10 relating to each teacher, Mr Ellul, Ms Coombs, Mrs Ip, Mr Palfrey and Mr Shanahan, we then had to guess with images related to which teachers. After that we went on a scavenger hunt throughout the school, we had to collect information like a word with 15 or more letters and its meaning to teachers signatures to bugs.
Today we did the bottle wise program where two representatives spoke about alcohol and the problems the drinking can cause. We also did activities that related to decision making and risk assessment these activities were a lot of fun and everyone enjoyed themselves.

These three days we played team building games and had a quiz on our teachers. We made a straw bridge out of straws, newspaper, and sticky tape. Our straw bridge held about 69 golf balls. We came 3rd out of 6 groups. The second day, Mr Shanahan, Mr Palfery, and Mrs Ip came in and did activities with us. On the 3rd day the alchohol people came in to teach us about the troubles of alchohol. We played a ball game for them to remember our names. Stephanie got hit by a ball, which was REALLY funny. These three days were fun. Im still laughing about it now.

On the first Wednesday at the mordialloc experience we had two people come in from a program called 'Task Force' to teach us about alcohol and the different effects it has on your body.
We did a few different games like have you ever and a desicion game.
It was interesting to listen to because I learnt a lot of interesting facts.
